Mysterious Employer is a Mystery. He (?) charged the Captain to reach the Great Gate of Canis Majoris, which failed and caused the Captain to become stranded in the Prologue, and meet with the other Stranded.
After reconnecting the Galaxy's Edge with the rest of the galactic community, the Mysterious Employer tasks the Captain to perform a number of lucrative jobs, which help the Umbral Reach to gain a foothold in Canis Majoris.
Goals and motivations of the Employer are as unclear as those of Umbral Reach itself.
