ECHO is at the heart of the player's ships - it performs all automatic tasks, from navigation, docking, tractoring loot, as well as more advanced tasks such as picking missions, performing missions, autoselling loot, and not least of all, providing the player with travel tooltips and occasional banter.

Echo

Autopilot / Idle: ECHO can do various tasks around the Galaxy: Automatic Mining, Combat or Salvage missions, doing salvage/mining from standard POIs. Not all missions are doable by ECHO, and during specialized activities like Patrol, Bounty and Industrial Ops ECHO cannot be enabled at all. Generally - if ECHO can pick a mission, it can do the mission by itself.

Autopilot Penalty: Mining and Salvage Power and Yield are penalized while running ECHO by -20%. XP, monetary and reputation gains are penalized while running ECHO by -80%. Skills within Autopilot skill tree are designed to offset some of these penalties.

Mission Selection: Normally, ECHO can select/generate only white/normal missions. With Risk & Reward skill, ECHO can do green missions. ECHO can't take blue+ missions at all. Additionally, ECHO will avoid missions that will harm your standing with a Faction you don't have declared war against.

Autopilot Settings

ECHO's personality can be tweaked with the setting in the Autopilot Tab under Ship Option:

  • Default Mining Location: Purely informational.
  • Prioritize Home Station: If the player set a Home base (see Airlock) and then ECHO will revolve around this station and always return after missions.
  • Prioritize Missions: If this is enabled, ECHO will not do free-roam activities, such as mining a recurring asteroid field, or salvaging Ancient Wrecks.
  • Disable Travel: ECHO will not engage Warp.
  • Auto Sell: ECHO can autosell items in Armory/Materials Bay if any of these reaches a cap. It will not sell any purple+ item, nor will it sell any marked as favorite.
  • Ammo supply: Amount of minutes ECHO estimates current ammo supply needs to last - and will buy more ammo from shop if needed.

Activity Override

Activity Override

Activity Override is relevant on mixed-layout ships where ECHO mistakenly selects wrong activity. For example, having combat turrets (for defense) on a mining ship with mining drones might indicate to ECHO the ship is meant to be used for combat, instead of mining. With the manual toggle, player can override autodetected activity and set preferred one.

If the manually set activity is incompatible with the ship layout, ECHO will complain when enabled, and do nothing.

ECHO Stats

Under ECHO Stats player can compare results of various activities that ECHO ran recently. An ECHO session is recorded only if it ran longer than 5 minutes.
