Starting New Game

Starting a new game gives the player the option to define their Captain's name, starting skill, and starting ship. All choices can later be modified (name, title, portrait), the ships can be swapped or expanded into a flotilla, and the starting skill is just one of many, as the player will unlock all other ships through short quests over the course of the game.

When starting a new game player will be greeted with these options:

Choose a Background, more on backgrounds later:

Choose a starting ship, one suitable to chosen background. For more information, see Ships.

Optionally, rename the ship. All Ships can be renamed at leisure at any time:

Finally, Launch!

For new players, Prologue is strongly suggested as it serves as a safe and pleasant tutorial garden.

On Page 2 you can choose a Background. Don't worry, you can play all ship classes later in the Game.

Statistics and Customization

Over time, and as hours go by, detailed statistics are available at the Captain Info screen on the Action Interface in lower right corner.

Right-clicking the black rectangle around portrait and name allows for detailed customization options, allowing one to set a completely new name, portrait, call sign, and a selection of titles based on past exploits and standings across the stellar Factions.
