Darkspace Compact

Darkspace Compact are a minor faction.

The Compact

There is no clear information about how Darkspace came to control the vast resources and territory of Conquest sector, nor what precipitated the invasion by other major factions. Early player contact with them is limited to the state of global war as player is likely to be employed in a mercenary role against Darkspace. However, alliances shift, and the player can befriend them, reaping rewards and status. Although they owned the entirety of it, they can be pushed out from Conquest into Penumbra Subsector which hosts their Embassy, or they can be helped to fend off all invaders.

Otherwise, they are in a constant war with Meridia's Chosen, a "force of raving lunatics", which are based even further in Darkspace, in the Lucifer subsector.

They have no known leader, but a smuggler named Midas asks the player for help against their enemies.

Getting to Darkspace

Player needs to reach level 55 before gate passes to Penumbra become available for sale in the gate system.

Darkspace are large enough to have their own ship supplier - Obrix. Obrix ships, which are mostly combat vessels, are visually unique as they are vertically oriented.
