Officer Skills are the passive bonuses that hired officers contribute to your ship. Every officer is generated with a fixed set of skills drawn from their profession (see below), and those skills switch on as the crew member gains levels — each unlocked skill adds one rank to the matching node in your captain's skill trees.

How Officer Skills work

  • Profession skills: A crew member only rolls skills flagged for their profession, such as Mining, Salvaging, Combat, Engineering or Industrial. A single skill can belong to more than one profession.
  • Skill slots by officer quality: Higher quality officers can use more skills.
  • Minor vs. major skills: Skills in slots 1-2 and 4-5 are minor skills. Skills in slots 3 and 6 are major skills which usually grant a powerful ability or effect.
  • Level gates: A skill unlocks once the crew member reaches its required level. For skills in slots 1/2/3/4/5/6, officer needs to be level 1/15/30/40/50/60 to utilize them.
  • Officer skills stack with Captain's skills: Each unlocked officer skills adds +1 rank to that node in your own skill trees, on top of any points you invested. Critical Recursion Critical Hits can trigger 1 additional times. Critical hit chance is halved each time.
Instant Reload 2% chance to instantly reload a turret.
Redline Critical hits have a 5% chance to grant a Rage stack for 15s (max 25 stacks). Each stack grants +0.5% Combat Power. (Cooldown: 1s).
Target Weak Spots Increase Critical Chance by 1% & Critical Damage by 2.5%.
Turret Rotation Boosts your turret rotation speed by 5%.

Iron Rage When your hull takes a hit, increase Combat Power by 25% for 10 seconds. (Cooldown: 60s).
Shock Assault While boarding, enemy defenders have their Boarding Power reduced by 5%.
Warpath Each kill grants +3% Attack Speed for 2 minutes. Stacks up to 5 times.
Weapons Free On arriving at a combat zone, gain +10% Attack Speed for 30 seconds. (Cooldown: 180s).
